The 3 Series is almost universally considered the benchmark sports sedan. Offered with rear- or all-wheel drive, the model delivers pinpoint handling and a snug, but impeccably finished interior. Over the years it has been offered with a wide variety of four-, six-, and even V8 engines, as well as in sedan, convertible, and wagon formats. Regardless of the version you choose, the compliant ride, punchy engine and fun-to-drive formula remain. While this version of the 3 Series BMW offers more interior room than the previous version, responsive steering and handling make it as nimble as some sports cars. Track-monster M3 versions tilt the needle all the way toward sportiness.

Oil Reset Method 1

1. Turn ignition to Terminal 15, which is one turn of the key or one press of the START/STOP button.
2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button on the instrument cluster for 10 seconds.
3. The upper display will be illuminated with a service item. The lower display will indicate the remaining time or mileage left for the service item.
4. Pressing the button repeatedly will allow the display to scroll through all of the condition based service items.
5. Press and hold the SET/RESET button again and the lower display will indicate “OK” or “DUE”.
6. Pressing the SET/RESET button again will allow the “RESET” to appear in the lower display for that service.
7. Releasing and reapplying the button one more time will reset the service displayed in the upper window only.
8. Turn ignition off.

Oil Reset Method 2

1. Press the start/stop button once (do not start the engine).
2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button until the service indicator light appears.
3. Press the SET/ RESET button repeatedly to scroll the service menu.
4. With the oil change interval highlighted, press and hold the SET/RESET button. When “RESET” appears, release the SET/RESET button and press and hold again.
5. Reset complete when “OK” and new mileage appears.
6. Turn ignition off.

Oil Reset Method 3

1. Turn ignition off. Press and hold “TRIP ODOMETER” button and turn ignition to “ACCESSORY 1”.
2. After 5 seconds, “OIL SERVICE RESET (RE)” or “INSPECTION RESET (RE)” will display.
3. Release button. Press and hold button again. After 5 seconds, “RESET” will flash.
4. Release button. Press button once more. New interval is displayed.
5. Press and hold button again, after 5 seconds “RE” or “RESET” will flash, release button.
6. Turn ignition off.
