HOW TO RESET SUZUKI CHECK ENGINE LIGHT?

CHECK ENGINE RESET PROCEDURE

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT RESET – PROCEDURE 1

1. CHECK ENGINE light will blink (Samurai) or stay lit (Sidekick) at 50,000, 80,000 and 100,000 miles to indicate emission system maintenance is required.
2. At 50,000 miles, replace PCV valve and inspect EGR system. At 80,000 miles, replace O2S sensor. At 100,000 miles, replace PCV valve, inspect catalytic converter for plugging, and inspect EGR system.
3. After service has been performed, turn off CHECK ENGINE light by moving cancel switch to opposite position. Cancel switch is located behind steering column lower trim panel. See Fig. 1.

1. CHECK ENGINE light will stay lit at 50,000, 80,000 and 100,000 miles to indicate emission system maintenance is required.

2. At 50,000 miles, replace PCV valve and inspect EGR system. At 80,000 miles, replace O2S sensor. At 100,000 miles, replace charcoal canister.

3. After servicing and/or replacing components, reset CHECK ENGINE light by sliding cancel switch to its opposite position. The 3-wire cancel switch is located on main wiring harness. On models with Throttle Body Injection (TBI), see Fig. 1. On 1992 models with Port Fuel Injection (PFI), 1993 models with Multi-Port Injection (MPI) and 1994 models with Multi-Fuel Injection (MFI), see Fig. 2.

1. CHECK ENGINE light will stay lit at 50,000, 80,000 and 100,000 miles to indicate emission system maintenance is required.
