When to program the immobilizer?

  • Key added or replaced.
  • System malfunction

How to Program the Immobilizer on Mazda2 2002-2007

NOTE: Two or more programmed keys necessary. Complete each step within 30 seconds of previous step.
Obtain all keys to be programmed.

STEP 1

Using programmed key 1, proceed as follows:

  • Within 10 seconds:
  • Insert key into ignition switch.
  • Switch ignition ON.
  • Switch ignition OFF.

STEP 2

Using programmed key 2, proceed as follows:

  • Within 10 seconds:
  • Insert key into ignition switch.
  • Switch ignition ON.
  • Switch ignition OFF.

STEP 3

Using new key proceed as follows:

  • Within 20 seconds:
  • Switch ignition ON.
  • Switch ignition OFF and remove key.

Repeat above procedure to program remaining keys.

To exit programming mode: Wait 30 seconds.

NOTE: Confirm programming has been successful by starting vehicle using each key. Wait for more than 5 seconds
between each key confirmation. A maximum of 8 keys can be programmed
