Comprehensive Fuse and Bulb Replacement Guide for MG RX5

Comprehensive Fuse and Bulb Replacement Guide for MG RX5

Fuses protect the electrical appliances of the vehicle by preventing the circuits from being damaged due to a short circuit or overload. A blown fuse indicates that the circuit it protects has failed and stopped working.

Identifying and Handling Faulty Fuses

  • If you suspect a fuse is faulty, remove it from the fuse box and inspect it to see if the wire inside the fuse is blown.
  • It’s recommended to have spare fuses in the vehicle, available from a local authorized repairer.

Important:

  • Never attempt to repair a blown fuse. Always replace it with one of the same rating. Using the wrong fuse can cause electrical system damage or fire.
  • If a replaced fuse fails immediately, contact a local authorized repairer as soon as possible.

Fuse Box Locations

The MG RX5 is equipped with three fuse boxes:

  1. Battery Fuse Box (on the battery)
  2. Front Compartment Fuse Box (front left of the front compartment)
  3. Passenger Compartment Fuse Box (under the left dashboard panel cover)

  2. Press the lock catch and remove the upper cover of the battery fuse box.
