Hello, I am Erwin Salarda, technical support of Veritek Incorporated for Launch X431 Scanner. Today I will show you how to fix your Bluetooth (VCI—Vehicle Communication Interface), which did not communicate with the vehicle.
2 REASONS
FIRST
- Your VCI is broken or damaged. What can cause the VCI to be broken? If your VCI is for 12 volts or for the light vehicles, never plug it into the truck. The truck has 24 volts, so when you plug in the VCI, it will burn the chips inside.
SECOND:
- Outdated firmware of the VCI is the most common issue when Bluetooth fails to communicate with the vehicle. To fix this problem, please follow the instructions below.
10 STEPS TO FIX IT!
STEP 1
- Open your LAUNCH X431 TABLET, then connect to the internet.
STEP 2
- Open the Launch X431 application and sign in with your username and password. If you can’t remember your password (click here), you can recover it by following these steps: If you have already signed in, proceed to step 3.
STEP 3
- In the application, select and click SOFTWARE UPDATE.
STEP 4
- Then make sure to update the core software, like the APPLICATION PROGRAM, the ECUAID, and the AUTOSEACH, but most especially the FIRMWARE UPGRADE PROGRAM.
STEP 5
- After you update the core software of your Launch X431 scanner, plug the VCI (Bluetooth adapter) into the vehicle’s 16-pin OBD port. (The VCI must plug into the OBD 16 port and then turn the car ignition On.)
STEP 6
- Back to the program. In the program of your Launch X431 Scanner, select USER INFO.
STEP 7
- select firmware fix.
STEP 8
- Click FIRMWARE FIX.
STEP 9
- After you click the FIRMWARE FIX wait for the scanner to detect the serial number of your Bluetooth device, then select and click the serial number, and then wait until the firmware fix reaches 100%.
STEP 10
- Finally, you can try to start the scanning.
IMPORTANT NOTE FROM ME: If you are using intelligent diagnose and the problem still occurs even after you follow the instruction above, try to use another internet connection, because some of the internet connections block some communication from the launch x431 server.
