HOWTO: BMW 1 Series (E81-E82-E87-E88) TPMS Reset

TPMS RESET

BWM E81-E82-E87-E88 TPMS Reset Using iDRIVE.

On this tutorial. we need to use the iDRIVE. see image below.

BWM E81-E82-E87-E88 TPMS Reset Using iDRIVE.

Each time a tire inflation pressure has been corrected or a wheel or tire has been changed, reset the system.

STEP 1

  • Turn the Ignition On. 

STEP 2

  • PRESS the (MENU BUTTON)

STEP 3

  • Press the controller to open the ((i) MENU)

STEP 4

  • Select (SETTINGS) and press the controller.settings

STEP 5

  • Select “Vehicle / Tires” and press the controller.Vehicle and tires

STEP 6

  • If necessary, move the highlight marker to the uppermost field. Turn the controller until “TPM” is selected and press the controller.tpms

STEP 7

  • Start the engine, but do not start driving.

STEP 8

  • Select “Reset” and press the controller.reset

STEP 9

  • Select “Yes” and press the controller.yes

STEP 10

  • Start to drive. The tires are shown in gray and “Resetting TPM...” is displayed.

 

After driving a few minutes, the set inflation pressures in the tires are accepted as the target values to be monitored. The system reset is completed during your drive, and can be interrupted at any time. When driving resumes, the reset is continued automatically. On the Control Display, the tires are shown in green and “Status: TPM active” is displayed again.

If a flat tire is detected while the system is resetting and determining the inflation pressures, all tires on the Control Display are displayed in yellow. The message “Tire low!” is shown.

STEP 1

  • Start the engine, but do not start driving.

STEP 2

  • Lightly push button 1 in the turn indicator lever up or down repeatedly until the corresponding symbol appears in the display accompanied by the word “RESET”.RESET DISPLAY

STEP 3

  • Press button 2 to confirm your choice of the Tire Pressure Monitor. The following display appears:TPMS ACTIVE RESET

STEP 4

  • Press button 2 for approx. 5 seconds, until the reading shown below is displayed:TPMS RESETTING

 

 

Start driving. After driving a few minutes, the set inflation pressures in the tires are accepted as the target values to be monitored. The system reset is completed during your drive, and can be interrupted at any time. When the trip is resumed, the reset is continued automatically. The indicator lamp goes out after the system reset is completed.

NOTE:

Each time a tire inflation pressure has been corrected or a wheel or tire has been changed,YOU MUST RESET THE SYSTEM.
