HOW TO RESET: Volkswagen TPMS Relearn Procedure

No special tools are required to perform this relearn procedure.<>
Relearn Procedure when Replacing a Tire or Tire Rotation:
- Inflate all tires to pressure listed on the placard.
- Apply the parking brake and turn the ignition to the ON position with the engine OFF.
- Hold the SET (or ESP) button, located next to the gearshift lever, until an audio signal is heard. The audio signal confirms successful relearn.
Relearn Procedure when Replacing a Sensor:
- Inflate all tires to pressure listed on the placard.
- Apply the parking brake.
- The vehicle needs to sit (engine OFF) for 20 minutes in order for the control module to enter learn mode.
- Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 MPH or more for sensor IDs to be memorized.

Sensor Relearn Procedure:
- Inflate all tires to pressure listed on the tire placard.
- Turn the ignition to the ON position with the engine OFF.
- Press the Menu button located on the instrument cluster.
- Using the thumb knob, select Tire Pressure.
- Select Store.
- Drive the vehicle for at least 20 minutes at a speed of 30 MPH, or more. All sensor IDs will be memorized automatically.
NOTES: Before driving, wake up each sensor while the engine is running by dropping the tire pressure more than 5 psi, then re‐inflate to the placard pressure.<>
If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic suspension stabilizing system, deactivation during the relearn procedure may be required.<>

What is INDIRECT?
This vehicle’s TPMS is Indirect which functions using the ABS wheel speed sensor. There is not a TPM sensor in the tire.<>
