Service Vehicle Soon Car Dashboard Light
Service Vehicle Soon: Typically indicates a lighting or other electrical problem controlled by the BCM (body control module). Check all lights, including headlights, turn signals, brake lights, and hazard lights. This sign may also be used to alert the driver of a traction control issue or a communication difficulty between modules. When a fault situation exists in one of the vehicle chassis systems, such as the anti-lock (ABS) brake system, the traction control (TCS) system, the electronic suspension system, or the brake hydraulic system, the indicator light illuminates.
Summary
1: The body control module (BCM) detects certain lighting system malfunctions. The BCM sends a class 2 message to the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) requesting illumination. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the BCM indicating that the service vehicle soon indicator is illuminated. The BCM sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
2: The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) detects a malfunction in the traction control system. The IPC receives class 2 messages from the EBCM requesting illumination of both the service vehicle soon and traction off indicators.
3: The IPC performs the displays test at the start of each ignition cycle. The indicator illuminates for approximately 3 seconds.
4: The IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the BCM.
