- Once triggered, the SRI comes on each time the engine is started. The light goes out after about 2 minutes. After service is performed and the SRI counter reset, the SRI will not light again until shortly before the next service is due.
- Identify type of instrument cluster used in vehicle. See Fig. 6.
- Turn ignition on. Locate on-board diagnostic unit on right side of engine compartment. Connect diagnostic lead to terminal No. 7 on diagnostic unit. See Fig. 7.
- Depress button 4 times, briefly but firmly. System is now in DTM 4 mode. When LED comes on and stays on, the system is ready for entering codes.
- Code to be entered is 1-5-1. Enter first digit (1) with LED on. Wait until it comes on and stays on again, then enter the second digit (5). Repeat procedure for the third digit (1).
- Wait for diagnostic unit confirmation (LED flashing several times in succession). If LED emits a couple of rapid flashes and service reminder light is turned off, reset procedure is complete. If service reminder light remains on, repeat procedure.
